Winter in the Vercors

Here are the first snows on the Vercors and photos from our first snowshoe outings.

In November, the first flakes have settled on the summits and the snowpack tops a metre in places.

With a short approach walk, we, the Pied Vert mountain leaders, are ready for our first outings and winter activities.

Let's build the first igloos on the heights before joining up, this time for a snowshoe escape game once the snow has settled around our villages.

As night falls, snowshoes on our feet, "we had forgotten how good the snow felt!".

The tracks of the wild animals of the Vercors print into the snow and promise fine outings on the trail of Alpine fauna.

In the distance you hear the snow cannons blowing, autumn leaves, covered by winter.

Photos taken on walks from Villard-de-Lans, Autrans-Méaudre, Corrençon and Lans-en-Vercors, as well as 3-day trips on the Ambel plateau (Vassieux) and the Vercors Highlands.
