Snowshoeing beginners Grenoble - Vercors

Half-day snowshoeing

With a guide, you head out for 2 to 3 hours in the morning, afternoon or for a night snowshoe session. The professional leading the outing lends you quality gear suited to beginners.

After help fitting the snowshoes and a few first tips, you take your first steps in the snow with playful exercises suggested by your guide.

Once everyone in the group is comfortable, off you go on a mountain outing. Your leader brings it to life with educational moments that let you:

• enjoy small slopes and learn about winter mountain risks (avalanche, cold, holes in the snow)
• discover the world of Vercors wildlife, revealed track by track in the snow
• learn how plants adapt to survive winter

Booking

Full-day snowshoeing

Take the same ingredients as a half-day, add a hiking dimension to reach the most beautiful viewpoints, and that's the programme for a full-day snowshoe outing.

The meeting time is adjusted with your group, between 9am and 10am in the morning. Return in late afternoon, around 4pm or 5pm.

Lunch can be a picnic from your backpack or, on request, the mountain leader can plan a snow route via a mountain refuge for a warm meal.

This activity depends on snow cover.

If the weather is too warm, we will propose a thrilling alternative. Snow or not, the adventure awaits.

Is the beginner snowshoeing session suitable for children?

Yes. The gear we lend fits each size, and the leader's approach adapts too. From the youngest to the oldest, beginner snowshoeing can happen with the family as well as at school during a school mountain outing, or for a winter family team-building activity.

The physical difficulty is also adapted to your group's level.

Do you need to rent snowshoes?

No need to rent snowshoes before coming. The mountain leader running the outing provides quality gear suited to the outing.
